“We are the 3rd generation of seengh ka kaam craftsmen and we are proud to have shared our work with over 15 countries” - Mohammed, maker.

  • Stunning Mother of Pearl

Similar to the traditional ‘Seengh Ka Kaam’ (horn work) craft which repurposes discarded bones and horns from slaughter houses, this timeless design is produced using the inner glistening shell of Mother of Pearl and features a minimalist floral pattern.

Mother of Pearl is commonly believed to attract prosperity and is a symbol of selfless love, while floral designs feature heavily across Indian crafts and are an important part of Hinduism. The act of praying is called puja, which literally means “the flower act”, with flowers traditionally offered to the gods in return for good health, wealth and prosperity.

The combination of both traditions makes it the perfect gift for your friends and family.

  • The Makers

Drawing, cutting and piecing the design together requires great precision and patience – qualities that Mohammed and his team of artisans from Sambhal in India have perfected. The city is famous for this artistry which is under threat of being lost due to the lack of appreciation for the skill.

For Mohammed and his team, sharing their work with the rest of the world is what they find most rewarding.

  • The Material

This photo frame is carefully pieced together using individual, hand-cut shapes of Mother of Pearl (the inside surface of a shell which goes on to become a pearl), sustainable MDF and varnished with a plant-based resin for a slick and glossy finish.
